Some of our more frequently asked questions

Are you a CrossFit Gym?

We are a functional fitness studio. That means we do CrossFit style workouts, but we don’t classify ourselves as pure CrossFit because of so many people think “I can’t do CrossFit” and then don’t come. At Rise, we’re designed for people who are new to fitness, we promise you can do it. Just check out our social media and testimonials, 50% of the people at Rise never touched a barbell before they came here!

Also, we are CrossFit Affiliated.

Can I just drop in?

Yes – New people are always welcome! We have to follow some guidelines around class sizes, distancing, etc.  So message us beforehand so we can ensure that you can find a class to visit that works for you – free for the first week!

Do I need to bring anything?

Bring an open mind for learning and be prepared to have some fun! We recommend bringing water (water & Gatorde for sale). We offer clean towels and all fitness equipment needed.

And of course, dress for exercise! Athletic shorts, a shirt, and training shoes.

I'm not very athletic, is that okay?

Absolutely! All our workouts are adjustable to match your fitness level. We adjust the workout to align to your fitness level, we don’t expect your fitness to align to the workout. Our coaches will work with you before the workout to ensure any movement you’re not comfortable with is substituted with something you can handle. And we all scale the workouts in our own way – there is zero judgement for that here. Many people love our classes and they have never played a sport or worked out before.

can I bring friends?

We love it when you invite friends, please do! The most important part of a healthy lifestyle is surrounding yourself with awesome people who have the same beliefs. We would love to have your friends be a part of our community. Just let us know you’re bringing someone and we’ll take care of the rest.
